GCC Oil Cart Retrofit

During the course of my internship with GCC in the Summer of 2021, I tackled a variety of challenges that broadened my horizons. In particular towards the end of my time there I was tasked with retrofitting (updating) an existing Oil Filtration Cart for an overseas client. During this project, I pursued my interest in electro-mechanical systems by:

- Updated fitting sizes, hoses, and electrical wiring as per customer specifications
- Applied principles of fluid mechanics and electrical systems to properly retrofit the cart
- Created all hydraulic and electrical 2D & 3D schematics to correspond with the retrofit
- Familiarized myself with overseas electrical-codes
- Communicated challenges and possible solutions to an engineering sales team

I learned about sizing wires given length and maximum current draw as well as choosing the appropriate fittings (NPT, JIC, SAE) for fluid-power applications.
